在中国进入“十一五”建设新时期的第一个金秋，“第六届中国室内设计双年展暨室内设计大赛”、“第六届中国国际室内装饰博览会”及“2006中国室内设计高峰论坛”等系列活动在北京隆重登场。这是中国室内装饰行业大规模高水平的一次盛会，也是近年来我国室内设计、室内装饰设计、新材料、新产品的一次集中亮相。

    我国新兴的室内设计、室内装饰业从上个世纪八十年代后期起步，现已形成企业20万家、职工1000万人、专业设计人员60万人、年装饰工程量8000亿元的宏大产业，短短20年间一跃成为世界室内设计、室内装饰大国，为繁荣市场、扩大就业、提高人民生活质量作出了令人瞩目的重要贡献。

    现在，我国已经进入全面建设小康社会的关键时期，社会主义新农村建设与城镇化建设加快，建筑业、住宅业蓬勃发展，全世界每年竣工建筑面积的50%在中国，为我国室内装饰业开辟了广阔市场与发展前景，也为我国室内设计师提供了施展才能的大舞台，并为同行间广泛开展国际国内的交流与合作，提升我国室内设计、室内装饰水平创造了有利条件。

    本次展览活动的宗旨是贯彻科学发展观和“以人为本”的理念，以“设计与材料•环境与健康”为主题，以连接整个产业链为特色，搭建设计与材料、设计与施工、企业与消费者、国际与国内的交流平台、引导创新，推动节能环保新设计、新材料、新产品的发展，迎接国内外市场新的机遇和挑战，促进我国室内设计、室内装饰行业由“大”到“强”的转变。

In the first autumn of the 11th five-year plan of China, the 6th China Interior Design Biennial and Interior Design Award, the 6th China International Interior Decoration Expo, the China Interior Design Summit 2006 and series events are held in Beijing grandly. They are large-scope and high-class exhibitions in the interior decoration industry of China. They are also a gathering of new design, new material and new product of interior design and interior decoration of our country in the recent years.

The rising interior design industry and interior decoration industry of our country start at the late 80’of 20th century. New it’s a huge industry with 200 thousand enterprises, 10 million employees, 600 thousand professional designers and RMB 0.8 trillion market value. China has become a big country of interior design and interior decoration in the world in just 20 years. The industry makes great contribution to blooming the market, releasing employment pressure, raising quality of life.

Now our country has entered into a key period of constructing a well-off society in an all-round way. The constructing steps of new socialist countryside and urbanization have been fastened. The architecture industry and resident real-estate industry are growing vigorously. 50% of finished construction area of world is in China annually, which explores wide market and prospect of interior decoration industry, provides precious opportunities for our interior designers, makes it possible for extensive communication and cooperation, and helps in improving our interior design and interior decoration.

This exhibition will carry out the human-oriented and scientific development concept with the topic “design and material, environment and health”. The features of the exhibition are connecting the whole industry chain, building communication platform between design and material, design and installation, enterprise and consumer, international and local. It will help in guiding innovation, pushing the energy saving and environment friendly development of new design, new material and new product, facing new local/international market opportunity and challenge, facilitating the transfer from the big to the strong of our interior design industry and interior decoration industry.
